The pain of deceipt.

It really hurts when you bring someone in and try to help them grow as a rennie. Our group, The Ladies of the Salty Kiss, had recently done this. We took in a woman that we thought would be an asset to our troupe. Well, I guess we were all wrong. After two short weeks on the crew, and only two faire performances, she showed her true colors.

We thought this woman was extra sweet. She offered some help to one of our ladies who was a little financially down, and fixed something for her out of her own pocket. Now she complains that it cost her money. Of course, if she hadn't offered to do it in the first place, nobody would have been any worse for the ware. This woman, Daylight, as she calls herself, obviously had no idea what kind of discipline it takes to be a true rennie. She couldn't handle the costuming regulations, the heat, the cost of travel, the lack of large funds coming back to us from the faire itself, nor the regulations of smoking when there is ABSOLUTELY no smoking allowed once faire begins, for patrons or participants alike.

This woman has made an effort to go behind the back of our caring and honest employer, posted on a well known renaissance forum, asking if there were any groups that she could join to work faires with, before she had ever even attempted to resign her post from the current group that she was in. She has also misrepresented herself as a seasoned renaissance actress, who in fact, has only worked renaissance festivals three days, as a paid participant. Before that, she has had two years experience as a playtron at one faire, to my knowledge. She has taken it upon herself to 'pirate' as you will, photographs taken of her by other people, and used them for herself without permission of the photographer, she has caused strife in a group of women who actually work very well together regardless of the amount of estrogen floating around at any given time. She has honestly put a VERY sour taste in the mouth of some fairly forgiving people's mouths.

I only write this in hope that anybody who comes into contact with this woman may have read this and learned to be very wary of her and her wicked ways. She will try to dazzle you, then turn around and try to tear you apart. Unfortunately for her, she doesn't realize that our group is not weak, not new, and will not be torn apart by a newbie to the rennie scene. We will, however, stand up in unison against any and all attachs put upon us, and fight back with all of our might.

Please lords and ladies, tread softly around the woman who calls herself Daylight of Debbie May. She is not to be trusted when she doesn't get her way. She knows nothing of the true rennie lifestyle and honestly I believe that she is simply looking for free admission to any and all faires possible, and wouldn't mind riding the coat tails of anybody who will allow it. We all know that there is no glory in this line of work or play if we don't work at it a little bit. She doesn't want to put the work into it, she simply wants the glory.
